License Won’t Activate

If your Smartcat licence won’t activate, there could be a few things going on. These are the most common reasons a licence won’t activate.
1. LICENCE ACTIVATION LIMITS
Smartcat theme licence can be active on one domain at a time. The licence can be moved from one domain to another, however it MUST be manually deactivated from one one site before being activated on another.
Deleting a WordPress site or moving a site to a new domain will not automatically deactivate a licence or update the licence location. Failing to manually deactivate a licence before attempting to use it on a new domain can render the licence inaccessible.
Smartcat can recover licences that are activated on inaccessible sites for a $15 service fee. If you require this service please create a support ticket on our Helpdesk and we will be happy to assist you. The licence recovery process usually takes 2-5 business days.
Please contact your hosting provider to determine whether cURL is enabled. cURL is a very common extension that most servers have enabled, and it is required for our activation server to send and receive a response. If your hosting provider is unable to turn on cURL, the Smartcat team can activate the plugin for you manually, with FTP login credentials to access your site. Please submit this information along with your licence number or receipt number in a support ticket to our Helpdesk.
Some password protected sites, or sites using maintenance mode plugins, are unable to communicate with our licencing system. If this is the issue, Smartcat can provide you with the domain and IP address that require permission to communicate with your site in order for activation to work.
